Fresh, Fun Tips for Hydrating Your Skin
Dec 03, 2025
In various blogs, we've talked about how we can take advantage of the Fall Season to amp up our levels of skin hydration for more vibrant, radiant, and supple skin.
We can complement our Ageless La Cure skincare regimen with holistic living habits that will elevate the skin’s radiance and suppleness.
Aim to gear up during Autumn with many hydration practices listed below so that when Winter comes and our skin is confronted with enormous dehydration challenges, your skin remains vibrant, nourished, supple and full of vitality.
Here are several more ways to keep your skin balanced during Autumn (or anytime for that matter!):
- Of course, the #1 hydration lifestyle tip is also water no matter who you consult, but take it to next level by drinking coconut water. Coconut water protects the skin against oxidative damage because it’s charged with electrolytes.
- Add a pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt (no regular table salt) to your water or place a bit of sea salt on your tongue daily. Teeming with more than 80 minerals, healing Himalayan sea salt will enhance water absorption and retention in the skin.
- Eat high water content produce, the juicier the better. The fruits and vegetables of the Fall season that will provide the most hydration include apples, pears, grapes, pineapple, persimmons, butter lettuce, endive, and swiss chard, however all fresh fruits and vegetables contain large amounts of water. Try to eat the produce in its fresh form rather than baked or cooked because water will get cooked out of them defeating the purpose.
- Consume dark leafy greens. Their phyto-chemical content will help hydrate your skin.
- Place bowls of water in air conditioned or heated rooms you spend most of your time in or operate a humidifier in your home to help keep the air moist. Your bedroom is one logical place since we spend a third of our life in that room.
- Regulate the temperature in your home or office environment to remain as even as possible.
- There are many plants which transpire and increase water vapor in the air: Boston palm, bamboo fern, and the ficus plant, to name a few. Keep one in your bedroom.
- Shower or bathe in more tepid water rather than dehydrating hot. If you shower, keep the shower time down to under ten minutes.
- Make an herbal mister with purified water and a few drops of your favorite essential oils to hydrate your face periodically throughout the day. Essential oils of myrrh, lingonberry and sweet orange are some examples. Though it is not an essential oil, add a high-grade quality jojoba oil to the mix.
- Coffee can be dehydrating. Frequently substitute your coffee beverages during Fall (and Winter) for Matcha green tea or a cup warm water with lemon.
- Consume foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which limit water loss in the skin cells. High quality nuts and seeds abound in Omega-3’s. So does olive oil, flaxseed oil and Udo’s oil which are wonderful when added to a smoothie. They make the smoothie smoother, too!
- Refined sugar dehydrates the skin so read food labels and cut the white sugar intake. The same goes for alcohol which is very dehydrating too. Be conservative with alcohol consumption.
- Much make-up can actually be quite drying so limit its use. Use only when necessary.
- Certain essential oils are absolutely essential, no pun intended, for effective rehydrating skincare. Let Ageless La Cure take the guesswork out of it for you with products carefully formulated with just the right blends of essential oils for skin confronted with the challenges of dehydration.
Dehydration doesn’t apply only to the skin. It applies to the entire body. It’s a very common yet all too often undiagnosed cause of fatigue, headaches and digestive problems. If your skin is dehydrated, it is a sign that aspects of your physical internal body are dehydrated also. The tips shared above will help not just your skin but your whole body.
